FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) – A Tontitown man attempted to sneak an Xbox One controller out of Best Buy in his shorts on Sept. 30, police say.

Sean McDonald, 27, was arrested after police responded to a call about a burglary in progress at 7 p.m. at the Best Buy store at 464 E. Joyce Blvd. in Fayetteville, according to police.

McDonald had attempted to conceal an Xbox One controller in his shorts and walk out of the store when the Best Buy manager stopped him at the exit, police said. He then threw the Xbox One controller, and the manager asked him to go to the security office, according to police.

The suspect attempted to push the manager out of the way several times unsuccessfully, and then he gave up and walked to the security office, police said.

Upon arriving at the office, McDonald turned around and “violently” shoved the manager in an attempt to escape. The two then got into a fight, and McDonald bit the manager on the arm, according to police.

Police arrived soon after and arrested McDonald. They noted in the report that the suspect had an injured right wrist.

McDonald was booked into the Washington County Detention Center at 12:17 a.m. on Wednesday (Oct. 1), according to the jail’s intake report.

He is being held without bond, and his first hearing is scheduled for Friday (Oct. 3), the jail’s intake report states.
