FORT SMITH (KFSM) - Get ready for ghosts, goblins, witches, and clowns as several haunted houses in the River Valley open up Friday (Oct.3) for Halloween. Its definitely a little spooky at the haunted house at Fort Chaffee.

You'll walk through three huge warehouses filled to the brim with all things scary for just under an hour. You'll scream and you might even get scared enough you have to leave. "We do a bigger and better haunt every year," said Director Jason Morland.

Every Friday and Saturday night through November 1st, beware of what this haunted house has to offer. "We have the axe killer, we have the gathering herd, shock therpy, and everyone's favorite the vortex tunnel," said Morland. According to Morland, a new spooky feature is added this year. "The laser vortex, its very mind boggling and will definitely satisfy anyone that comes through," said Morland.

People can even take a ride in a coffin to get a feel for what life is like after death. The ride lasts four minutes.

"We have little itty bitty kids and we have senior citizens that come through, "said Morland. "You see masks or costumes and people just get into the feel of Halloween," according to Morland.

If you think you can handle it there's no going back. They'll get you through the haunted house before you have time to change your mind. "We do 50 people every thirty minutes and what that does is eliminates the need for a long time," said Morland.

It's open from 7:30 until midnight. It will cost you $12 at the door. Tickets are also being sold at the Evan's Boys and Girls Club.
