LOWELL (KFSM) – Construction crews have started a weekend-long project that will widen I-49 from two lanes, to three.
The project started Friday (Oct. 3) night.
Crews will have the interstate limited to a single lane for northbound drivers.
The project is expected to be complete by Monday (Oct. 6) morning.
The southbound lanes are expected to be expanded, with construction beginning on Oct. 17.
