BENTON COUNTY (KFSM) – Detectives recovered 84 stolen guns in a burglary investigation that stemmed from firearms being found during a traffic stop, the Benton County Sheriff’s Office announced Wednesday.
John Stanton, of Springdale, and Ricky Lovesee, of Madison County, were arrested on suspicion of burglary and transported to jail following an investigation into the Washington County case, according to the Sheriff’s Office. Although the investigation led detectives to Washington County, Benton County Sheriff’s Office deputies took part in the case.
Authorities are still seeking a third suspect in the case—Thomas Wesley Lightfoot, 29, of Springdale. Anyone with information on Lightfoot’s whereabouts is encouraged to contact the Washington County Sheriff’s Office at 479-444-5720.
During a traffic stop, deputies found 33 stolen guns and more than $300 in gold coins. Detectives recovered a total of 84 guns and “a substantial amount of money” connected to a reported burglary investigation, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
The 33 stolen guns found during the traffic stop were included in the 84 found, deputies said.
