SPRINGDALE (KFSM) – A Springdale construction business went up in flames Friday night, stopping traffic in both directions on U.S. 71B.

Fire crews from Springdale and Lowell responded around 5:30 p.m. to a call of smoke near the intersection of U.S. 71B and Arkansas 264. When firefighters arrived, they found Scott Construction Equipment Company on fire, according to the Springdale Fire Department.

Crews extinguished the flames by 6:30 p.m. Traffic was stopped in both directions as firefighters had to lay a hose down across the road in order to tap into a water supply, according to the Springdale Fire Department.

No one was hurt, although the structure suffered significant damage, officials said.
