Police And Feds Investigate $2 Million Vehicle Arson In Bentonville

An arsonist in Bentonville set fire Thursday to two construction vehicles being used to construct the Bella Vista Bypass, Bentonville police said Friday.

The Bentonville Police Department and the Bentonville Fire Department responded to an area south of the Lowe’s department store on Lowes Avenue regarding an arson investigation. Police said the three vehicles intentionally set on fire represent a loss of $2 million.

The state fire marshal and the federal Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms agency are assisting with the investigation, Bentonville police said.

Anyone with information on the arson is asked to contact the Bentonville Police Department.

    Please do not send this arsonist to jail.
    Tax payers are out $2mil for the original cost of the equipment. Now the taxpayer is going to cough up another $2mil to replace the equipment. Plus the cost of the fire and police depts to control the blaze and ensure the public safety. Then the taxpayer is going to have to pay not only for the prosecution but probably the defense (court appointed) as well…..This arsonist is costing the taxpayer probably $5-6 mil before the costs incarceration for 20 years.
    Save the taxpayer some money. Just turn him over to us and we’ll extract due restitution.
