DeMarco Murray had been on a roll to start the season but the running back made history Sunday in the Cowboys’ 31-21 win over the Giants.

Murray has rushed for more than 100 yards in the first seven games of the season, breaking the previous NFL mark of six.

“I think we did this as a group,” Murray said. “So it’s hard for me to accept this individually, and I definitely wish those guys were here. But they’re a huge part of this, [along with] the tight ends, the receivers, the entire coaching staff. But I definitely give a lot of credit to those guys, and I’m blessed to be mentioned with that, but there’s a lot of hard work that needs to be done. It’s a long season.”

Murray now has 913 yards rushing on the season and is on pace to come close to the all-time record for yards in a season. Eric Dickerson’s 30-year old record sits at 2,105.

The seven 100-yard games equals the high from last season (Philadelphia’s Lesean McCoy) and matches Murray’s career total entering this season.

“I think we did this as a group,” Murray said, sprinkling around praise for his offensive line.
