FORT SMITH (KFSM) – Two people were arrested after speeding away from police and leading them on a chase through Fort Smith, authorities say.

Jenny Jo Elle Matlock and Matt Cole Hutchinson, 33, of Muldrow were both arrested after they were served warrants by narcotics officers with the Fort Smith Police Department and the Drug Enforcement Administration, according to authorities. When they were served the warrant, they took off, and the chase began, police said.

At some point, Hutchinson ditched the car and led police on a foot chase before authorities caught him.

Hutchinson was captured on Blair Avenue. He had a fugitive from justice warrant on suspicion of larceny out of Oklahoma, police said.

He also faces charges of possession of methamphetamine with intent to deliver, simultaneous possession of drugs and firearms, felony fleeing, reckless driving and leaving the scene of an accident, according to police.

It is unknown what charges Matlock could face at this time, police said.
