(CNN)- “God bless you, mami,”

“Hey baby.”

“You don’t wanna talk?”

This is just a sampling of what one woman in jeans and a t-shirt experienced in 10 hours of walking though the streets of New York City. Her experience was filmed and edited into a 1:56 public service announcement for anti-street-harassment group Hollaback!

You can watch the video below.

Inspired by the experiences of his girlfriend, shooter Rob Bliss reached out to Hollaback! to partner on the PSA highlighting the impact of street harassment. For 10 hours, he walked with a camera in his backpack in front of Shoshana B. Roberts, as she carried with two microphones in her hands.

Street harassment disproportionately impacts women, people of color, LGBTQ individuals, and young people, the group says on its website: “Although the degree to which Shoshana gets harassed is shocking, the reality is that the harassment that people of color and LGBTQ individuals face is oftentimes more severe and more likely to escalate into violence.”

Within hours of the video being posted to YouTube, commenters began posting threatening remarks, prompting Hollaback! to request help policing the video.

Looks like they were all black people too. Im so ashamed of my body being black skin. This is what causes racism.

      • No Respect

If she wants respect, don’t dress in tight jeans and shirt! When women dress like that, I lose all respect for them!.

      • Andrew

This is for No Respect. She can wear whatever the hell she wants. Ignorant comments like yours imply men are nothing but rapists who can’t control themselves and as a man, I find that insulting.

      • Fred

This is to ‘No Respect’: Maybe you should move to Iran, or Saudi Arabia if you feel that way. You will find much more like-minded individuals in that part of the world.

This looks like another attempt of the feminist group to put a the male gender of our species in a bad light.
I’m sorry, but the majority of that is not harrasment.
The guy’s that were making an attempt to walk right beside her for 5 minutes, etc. Yeah, I can see that.
But someone whistling or saying hi, beautiful, etc.
    Get over it.
    Or better yet.
Make yourself ugly if you don’t like it.

Must have been a slow news day ! Who cares if she’s getting cat calls? Scummy people have no couth! It can happen anywhere, because scummy people are mobile, but I’m sure it’s worse in areas more densely populated with scummy people. But everybody should already know that. Why is this news worthy?

  • Richard S. Drake

    Get over it?
Men should learn to keep their stupid mouths shut, and only offer their immature “compliments” if they actually know the woman.
The fact that “men” think that women should just “get over it” means that we still have a long way to go.

  • judy

she just wanted the attention like so many women do in many ways. if you look for something, generally you’ll find it. get over it

    • zztopperman

I tend to agree with you. Some women are just asking for attention even if it’s bad. But some women aren’t and would still get cat calls, even if they were dressed modestly. Crude people will be crude, and you simply cannot control them or their mouths. They have no couth or decency. They are low life scum.

      • judy

agree zz…don’t think the traits will change in either gender anytime soon…but if the verbal goes to harassment, physical, or any other kind of abuse on or off the workplace. let justice be served to the male. even applies to females every once in a while.

  • judy

btw, just look @ all the attention she’s already received even off the streets @ a safe distance. women love it!

  • Gottalaugh

I am a woman and being from the south, I guess the educated people from the north would say I am stupied ;)
It did seem to me like she had a sour attitude and an unfriendly way about her. Some of the people were just being nice and trying to make her smile.

    • judy

it’s just another way for a woman to attract attention. wired into our species. nothing wrong with that, just for females to be aware of when they do that…. and on the male side, there are consequences when you overstep your boundaries into someone else’s space… the woman gets attention, Channel 5 gets stories sold, and we voice our opinions….the more things change, the more they stay the same.
