DARDANELLE (KFSM) – A Dardanelle man was arrested in a child pornography case on Tuesday (Oct. 28), according to a news release from Attorney General Dustin McDaniel.
Ronnie Ponder, 28, was arrested on suspicion of possession of child pornography and booked into the Yell County Jail. He faces 30 counts of distributing, possessing or viewing matter depicting sexually explicit conduct involving a child, the release states.
Agents with the attorney general’s Cyber Crimes Unit executed a search warrant at Ponder’s home in the 100 block of Maple Street in Dardanelle on Tuesday. They confiscated a desktop computer, a laptop, an external hard drive, a cell phone, a flash drive and other electronic evidence, according to the release.
The evidence will be sent to the Cyber Crimes Unit Forensic Lab in Little Rock to be further analyzed, the release states.
Special Agent Chad Meli started the investigation after suspecting that Ponder possessed child porn at his residence, according to the release.
The Dardanelle Police Department assisted in the investigation and arrest, the release states.
Ponder is being held on a $100,000 bond, according to the release.
