FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) - It's going to be a tough challenge in Starkville for the Hogs on Saturday not only because they'll be facing the number one team in the nation, but because Arkansas' defense will have quarterback Dak Prescott and running back Josh Robinson to worry about.
"I think just last week alone they had 286 yards after contact alone as a team," defensive end Trey Flowers said. "So you know, we're going into the game knowing that we're going to have to tackle, and we're going to have to tackle hard."
Prescott, a Heisman front runner, has had four 100-yard rushing/200-yard passing games so far this season.
"The passing lanes open up because they do have an unbelievable running game," coach Clay Jennings said. "So, we have to be disciplined. We can't get caught being a spectator back there. We got to get our eyes in the right spot, and do what we're supposed to do at the corner and at the safety position."
To shut down the Bulldogs on offense, it all comes down to one thing.
"The biggest thing, just doing our job and staying in our gaps," coach Rory Segrest said. "We gotta get off blocks, and make sure we are bringing out feet and tackling."
The Hogs say their ready for it.
"I wouldn't say we're worried. I mean, we are aware of it. We know that to be an elite defense in the SEC, we're going to have to stop the run. So, that's just another task for our defense. We're just going to accept it," Flowers said.
