LITTLE ROCK (KTHV)- More women are getting behind the wheel in the trucking industry.
Female drivers give several reasons for wanting to pursue a career driving a big-rig– the feeling of independence, wanting to explore, they’re single or now living in an empty nest.
“I see more and more female drivers out there,” said Britt Debel, who started driving trucks in the early 90s.
Debel has been driving for 22 years, has racked up three million miles and has driven through 48 states.
“You get to travel the world and get paid for it for free,” said Debel.
