BELLA VISTA (KFSM) – The Bella Vista Fire Department is investigating the cause of a fire at a triplex that destroyed one apartment early Saturday morning (November 11th). Firefighters received the call at 5:32 a.m.

The fire started at 18 Nantucket Drive. It destroyed the home.

Fire Chief Stephen Sims said the home was engulfed and those living there were inside when firefighters got to the complex.

“When we arrived on scene, they were coming out through the back of their house, trying to make it up the hillside, which we helped them out of the hillside,” Sims said.

Battalion Chief Jimmy Johnson said, “One of the apartments was destroyed, but we were able to save the other two.”

Johnson said the five people that lived in the complex made it out safely. It took about 30 minutes to keep the fire under control.

Rachel Clark and her fiancé Chris Aten live next door at 20 Nantucket. They have renters insurance and they’ll be staying at a Rogers hotel.

The Red Cross has been called to help.

A contract company went to the scene to board up the roof before the rain arrived to the area.

Photos Firefighter Bobby Beckmann sent 5NEWS shows the complex engulfed with flames and suffering heavy damages to its exterior.
