Turkeys get respect during Thanksgiving, and in Arkansas they get respect all year long. The Associated Press reports Arkansas trots to the second place of turkey producing states.
The National Agricultural Statistics Service reports Minnesota remained king of the roost in 2014 with an estimated 45 million birds. Arkansas saw its turkey population rise from 28 million to 29 million, taking the second place spot. Rounding out the top three is North Carolina with 28 million turkeys.
