Authorities Respond To Grass Fire In Pocola

POCOLA (KFSM) – Authorities responded to a grass fire in Pocola on Friday afternoon (Nov. 28), officials say.

The Pocola Fire Department and Pocola Police Department both sent people to help with the incident. Officers were called out to help around 1:15 p.m., according to the police department.

Firefighters on scene said it started in the yard of a home on West Standfield Rd. The fire spread to trees and nearby farmland.

The house was not damaged.

The Arkhoma Fire Department assisted with the fire as well, according to officials.

The cause of the fire is not known at this time.
