FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) - Ben Jack's Arkansas Music is changing ownership and eventually its location, according to a news release.

The original owner, Shirley Jack, is selling the business after 50 years, the release states. She and her husband Ben Jack started the business, but Ben Jack passed away in 2009, and she has been running it since with a few dedicated employees, the release states.

The new owner, Don Nelms, says he and his partner plan to change the name to Sunrise Guitars and eventually relocate the business, according to the release.

“We chose Sunrise Guitars because it represents new beginnings, and sunrises have been a consistent theme in my photography over the years,” said Nelms.

Nelms said the business will have a full service repair department and continue to offer lessons for a variety of instruments.

The business is slated to move to the old Adventure Subaru building on North College Avenue within a year, the release states.

“We want to create a comfortable home for those interested in experiencing the joy of music,” Nelms said. “A place with a hometown feel and a devotion to quality."
