ROGERS (KFSM) – Police say a Rogers man shot at them several times with a rifle before later giving himself up.

Allen Lee Davison, 52, was arrested Thursday (Dec. 4) on suspicion of four counts of aggravated assault on an officer and a single count each of aggravated, manufacturing of a controlled substance, illegal possession of a firearm and simultaneous possession of drugs and a firearm, according to the Rogers Police Department.

Davison remains in the Benton County Jail on $200,000 bond. His arraignment is set for Jan. 12, according to the Benton County Sheriff’s Office.

The incident happened after Rogers officers responded to a report of a disturbance at 1623 E. New Hope Road. Officers went to Davison’s door to try to make contact with him, when they heard gunfire from inside, police said.

Rogers police said the suspect then started yelling at officers from a second-floor window, saying, “If you don’t shoot me, I will shoot you.” After authorities tried to get Davison to surrender, the suspect emerged from the home with a clenched fist and combative stance while yelling at the police, according to Rogers police.

After officers drew their Taser weapons, Davison complied with officers’ commands and gave himself up, police said.

Police said they recovered a .22-caliber rifle and several marijuana plants from the home.
