FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM)- Voters head to the polls Tuesday (Dec. 9) to decide the fate of the Civil Rights Ordinance 119, which was approved by the Fayetteville City Council in Aug.

Polls open from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

There's only one question on this ballot in this special election. If you vote "For," you are voting to repeal the new law. This means you are against the ordinance.

If you cast an "Against," you want the Civil Rights Ordinance to stay in place. This means you support it.

Only if you live in Fayetteville, can you vote in the special election. Poll workers will ask you for identification, however you aren't required to show ID, according to Jennifer Price, with the Washington County Election Commission.

Price said they have stocked up on supplies.

"We've staffed as if this were a General Election," Price said. "Instead of just sending out one machine per polling place, our larger sites are getting between three and four touch screens, they are getting extra tablets, and plenty of paper ballots.

Both sides of this controversial issues have been pushing for their interpretation of the law.
