FAYETTEVILLE- The Texas Bowl is two days away, and many Razorback fans are making the trip to Houston this weekend for the sold-out bowl game.

Fayetteville man John Brooks goes to all the games, and is planning on making the 600 mile drive to see the Razorbacks take on the Longhorns. Brooks said he will be hitting the road Sunday morning at 7.

"It's awesome, I mean it was very difficult the last three years going to the games, watching the games, it was heartbreaking at times, and so just to be able to get to a bowl game this year, and then to get to play Texas, I mean that was a perfect matchup for them to put that together," Brooks said.

He has a drawer dedicated to hogs tees and sweatshirts, all of which will be coming with him to the Texas Bowl.

"I grew up in Little Rock and Texas and Arkansas was just huge, that was the game of the year. It didn't matter who else you were playing, that was the game of the year," the almunus said.

Brooks said he has been keeping an eye on the weather, but isn't too concerned.

"We're going to leave at 7 in the morning, and then are going to take it slow going down 49 towards Fort Smith, then we should be smooth sailing, just to make sure there's no ice on the overpasses or anything," Brooks said.

Kickoff for the Texas Bowl will be at 8 p.m. Mon. (Dec. 29).
