OZARK (KFSM) – A Silver Alert for a missing man in Franklin County ended on Sunday (Dec. 28), according to authorities.
William E. Harris, 91, was found dead around 4 p.m. Sunday near his car along Highway 309 in Logan County, said Ozark Police Chief Cory Tedford.
Tedford said he believes Harris died of exposure and does not suspect foul play.
Family and friends said he had not been diagnosed, but had recent signs of dementia. Tedford said it appears Harris got confused and went for a drive, and when his car got stuck he tried to walk somewhere for help.
Harris’ body has been sent to a medical examiner, Tedford said.
