ANDERSON

FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) – After matching their best SEC start in six years, the Arkansas Razorbacks were rewarded by the Associated Press as they were moved up four spots to No. 19 in this week’s top-25 poll.

Arkansas has now won seven straight games, including wins at Georgia and at home against Vanderbilt last week. The Razorbacks have not been 3-0 in the SEC since the 1998 season but have a chance to accomplish that feat with a win at Tennessee (9-5, 1-1) on Tuesday (Jan. 13).

Bobby Portis poured in 32 points and pulled down 11 rebounds in an 82-70 win over Vanderbilt on Saturday while Michael Qualls added 20.

Kentucky stayed at the top of the poll as it 63 of a possible 65 first place votes. The Wildcats and Razorbacks are the only two SEC teams in the poll. LSU and Alabama were among teams receiving votes.

Oklahoma fell two spots down to No. 18 while Oklahoma State entered the poll at No. 24. Those two teams will meet in Norman on Jan. 17.
