After a week of below average temperatures, we start to rebound in the temperature department starting Thursday. This latest outlook from the Climate Prediction Center has Northwest Arkansas with a 50% to 60% probability of seeing above average temperatures over the next week and a half.

A combination of warm air from the southwest and generous sunshine from high pressure will start to help us starting Thursday. Average high temperatures in Fayetteville are around 45 and Fort Smith and the River Valley see typical mid January temperatures closer to 50. Friday will start off our streak of days of 50 degrees, with Saturday even getting close to 60 in the River Valley. Sunday, Monday and Tuesday all also could easily get past 50 based on current weather data and trends.
