On this blustery winter day, we packed up to adventure Arkansas at a destination that is welcoming regardless of the weather outside—Terra Studios.

Home to the "Blue Bird of Happiness," Terra Studios offers both the chance to observe wonderful art by many local artists and the opportunity to learn how to create fun works of art of your own.

Whether it's exploring their enchanted art park, woodland trails, seven channel stone labyrinth, or giant interactive games, everyone is bound to have a great time.

With freezing temperatures outside, some friends and I decided to try out one of Terra's many art classes and workshops. Ranging from learning how to do intricate wood burning to building clay bird houses, you'll find that Terra offers something to suit everyone's interests.

Today we learned how to dye silk scarves. Even though the process might sound cumbersome, it turned out to be super easy. The excellent instructors help you to relax and have fun with it. After a demonstration by one of the wonderful artists they have on staff, you can begin to experiment for yourself. With a variety of colors that we mixed to create unique colors of our own and several different designing tricks, the scarves turn out to be one-of-a-kind. The scarves make great accessories or even a nice personalized gift. During the class, you get to make three silk scarves. The design and color possibilities are endless!

If you get hungry while you're there, make sure you grab a bite to eat. The delicious treats are made by local bakers and chefs.

Even though Terra Studios is a not-for-profit and is free of charge to visit, donations are greatly appreciated.
