Qualls, Hogs Fly By Missouri

Qualls pours in 21 points as Razorbacks win eighth game in last nine attempts

FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) - Arkansas came into Wednesday's title with Missouri riding high. The Tigers came in having lost 11 straight SEC games.

Both were evident from the start.

The Razorbacks knocked down 10 3-pointers and got a game high 21 points from Michael Qualls as Arkansas raced to an 84-69 win at Bud Walton Arena.

Bobby Portis finished with 16 points and nine rebounds while Anton Beard added 13. Missouri had four players in double figures, led by both Jonathan Williams III and Tramaine Isabell with 13 points each.

Missouri committed 20 turnovers and were constantly harassed by the Arkansas defense.

"Our guys were active tonight," Arkansas coach Mike Anderson said. "The effort was there. We had 61 deflections and that's a critical part of our style."

Arkansas led by as much as 13 points in the first half but allowed Missouri to hang around as the Tigers trailed 37-29 at the half.
