MOBILE, ALA. (KFSM) – Arkansas’s first loss did not turn into their first losing streak.

The Razorbacks scored three runs in the fourth inning and then got five double plays from their defense as they rolled to a 7-0 win over South Alabama on Saturday night.

Arkansas got a RBI from Rick Nomura, Brett McAfee and Bobby Wernes in the fourth and that was more than enough for a pitching staff that rebounded nicely after allowing nine runs to Central Florida on Friday.

Jackson Lowery picked up the win as he threw three innings in relief and was able to pitch around a pair of walks. Zach Jackson struck out two but walked five and lasted just three innings after getting the start. Ryan Long was saddled with the loss for the Jaguars as he gave up three runs on eight hits in four 2/3 innings of work.

Tyler Spoon had a pair of doubles in his three hit night and drove in a run while Carson Shaddy also picked up three hits and drove in a run.

Arkansas will face No. 19 ranked Maryland at 10 a.m. on Sunday (Feb. 22)
