Arkansas Notches Win In SEC Women’s Tournament

Razorbacks use 10-0 second half run to knock out No. 8 seed Ole Miss

NORTH LITTLE ROCK (KFSM) – It took a half but the Arkansas women were able to pull away from Ole Miss in the second round of the SEC women’s tournament at Verizon Arena.

The Razorbacks used a 10-0 second half run to build as large as a 13-point lead and then coasted to the 72-61 win.

Jessica Jackson led the way with 25 points for Arkansas while adding eight rebounds. Calli Berna finished with 14 points while Kelsey Brooks added 13 points. Tia Faleru led Ole MIss with 19 points.

Arkansas will face No. 1 seed South Carolina tomorrow in the quarterfinals. The Razorbacks improved to 17-12 on the season and could be on the NCAA Tournament bubble.

The Razorbacks shot just 33 percent (8-of-24) in the first half but hit 11-of-17 in the second half to pull away after leading 29-28 at intermission.
