WASHINGTON COUNTY (KFSM) – Lane closures in Fayetteville will impact traffic starting on Tuesday (Mar. 10), according to the Arkansas State Highway and Transportation Department.
The northbound and southbound inside lane of Highway 71B between Interstate 49 and North Gregg Avenue will be closed for about a week, according to a release. The lane closures will occur between 8 p.m and 6 a.m.
Drivers are advised to consider alternate routes to reduce congestion in the work zone, the release states.
In September, 2014, the Arkansas Highway Commission awarded a contract, in the amount of $829,734, to Time Striping, Inc. of Van Buren, to install wire rope safety fence along portions of I-49 and Highway 71B in Washington County, according to the release.
The project is expected to be complete in mid-2015, the release states.
