FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) – Arkansas picked up it’s first SEC win of the season in a 5-1 victory over LSU Thursday night at Baum Stadium.

Pitching was no problem for Arkansas, as Dominic Taccolini and Zach Johnson combined to hold the Tigers to one run and seven hits.

The Hogs with a huge fourth inning lead by Clark Eagan scoring on a fielding error, brought in three runs. Eagan finished 3-for-5 on the night for the Razorbacks, scoring two runs.

LSU’s lone run of the game came in the sixth inning when Alex Bregman connected with a solo home run, but that would be all the Arkansas pitchers would allow, clamping down over the final three innings to seal the victory.

Game two of the three-game series is set for 8 p.m. Friday at Baum Stadium.
