FRANKLIN COUNTY (KFSM) - An eight-year-old boy who fell from a bluff at White Rock Mountain on Friday (March 20) is still in critical condition, authorities say.

The boy and a 35-year-old man identified as Shane Trotter were with a Tulsa camping group when they fell 60 feet off a bluff near the gazebo on White Rock Mountain.

The father was dead when first responders arrived, and the child was airlifted to Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock in critical condition with internal injuries, according to the Franklin County Sheriff's Office.

Trotter's 15-year-old stepson called 911 after the fall happened. The Franklin County Sheriff's Office released the call on Wednesday (March 25). The entire call is about 45 minutes long.  In the beginning, the teen navigates rescuers to the scene. He later asks dispatch how he can help keep his mom calm after the group found out Trotter and the child were badly hurt.  You can listen to excerpts of the 911 call by clicking on the video player above.
