FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM)- The Arkansas baseball team had to find a way to stop the bleeding from the last month. They did that Thursday night against Ole Miss. The Razorbacks beat the Rebels 10-3 in the first of a three game series at Baum Stadium to get above .500 for the season (13-12).

Arkansas’ big inning came in the fifth frame when Cullen Gassaway and Tyler Spoon delivered back-to-back RBI doubles as part of a four-hit inning to turn a 2-2 tie into a 5-2 Razorback lead

Holding on to a 5-3 lead, Zach Jackson got in to a jam in the top of the 7th with the bases loaded and no outs. He then struck out the side to end the threat.

Arkansas would tack on three more runs in the 7th and two more in the 8th to tally 10 on the night.

It’s been a forgettable month of March for the Razorbacks. They lost 10 of 12 games at one point and started the SEC season 1-5. Thursday’s win was their second straight after beating Memphis 7-3 on Wednesday.

Game two of the series is Friday at 6:05 p.m.
