SPRINGDALE (KFSM) - While some local companies look outside our area to house and transport their products, one Northwest Arkansas business is doubling in size by attracting national clients to their shipping company.

On Time Logistics is based out of Springdale. They pick, pack and ship, meaning they fill orders and send their clients' products wherever they need to go. Fayetteville native Steve Jones is the owner, and said his company recently moved to a new facility on Powell Avenue.

"We just think it's great to be in Springdale and to be a part of the growth that Springdale is having along with Northwest Arkansas, and with the recent news of reaching that 500,000 mark in population, becoming a medium size metro area I think it's great for our economy and Northwest Arkansas," Jones said.

Jones said the new facility is 48,000 square feet--- about 1.5 times larger than their old warehouse. He said they are able to expand because a big name client became a partner. His sales director, Tim Ward, said Banded, a hunting and fishing outfitter store, is moving their business from Omaha, Nebraska to Springdale to become On Time's biggest client.

"It gives us a larger footprint, it gives us a chance to reach customers we haven't had a chance to reach in the past, we really want to grow and expand our business in Washington and Benton County, but also to reach other areas in Northwest Arkansas and the Banded partnership gives us a great opportunity to have that," Ward said.

Both men are University of Arkansas graduates. Jones started On Time Logistics in Fayetteville in 2007.

Jones said they hope to have the doors open to their new warehouse by June. He said the expansion will create 10 new jobs within the company.
