BENTON COUNTY (KFSM) – A Rogers man pleaded guilty to failure to register as a sex offender on Tuesday (March 31) and received five years probation, according to court records.

Miguel A. Fuentes, 25, accepted a plea deal and was ordered to pay court costs in the amount of $1,620 at a rate of $55 per month, authorities said.

On Aug. 4, 2014, Rogers police were notified of Fuentes’ delinquent verification of residency status, according to an arrest report. Fuentes is a level-one sex offender, police said.

Fuentes was supposed to come into the Rogers Police Department to verify his home address on July 4, 2014, but he came in 10 days late, preventing his verification. He then police he would come in a week later but did not show up, authorities said.

After multiple unsuccessful attempts to call Fuentes, police started searching for him. They tried his registered home address and multiple places of employment, only to find that he no longer worked at any business he had registered with police, the report states.

A warrant was eventually issued for Fuentes’ arrest, and he was taken into custody on Aug. 15, 2014, according to court records. Those same records state he was charged with failure to register as a sex offender and entered a plea of not guilty on Oct. 28, 2014.

Now that he has accepted a plea deal and been sentenced to probation, Fuentes will participate in a county work program, court documents state.
