FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) – Two men were sentenced to a total of 14 years in prison on Wednesday (April 1) for kidnapping a Texas woman, according to a news release from U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Arkansas Conner Eldridge.

Michael Roberts, 25, of Bella Vista and Jason Petitt, 25, of Fayetteville were convicted on one count each of conspiracy to commit kidnapping, Eldridge said.

Roberts was sentenced to 10 years in prison and five years of supervised release. He was also ordered to pay a $3,500 fine, according to the release.

Petitt was given four years in prison and three years of supervised release, officials said. He was also told to pay a $2,000 fine, according to Eldridge.

A third person was also involved in the case, Theron Vance, 22, of Rogers. All three men were indicted by a federal grand jury on Aug. 13, 2014, court records state. Vance was convicted in March on one count of conspiracy to commit kidnapping and one count of aiding and abetting, according to court records. He hasn’t been sentenced yet, officials said.

All three men were charged with kidnapping and assaulting a texas woman named Yulu Zhang.
