Fayetteville Man Arrested, Facing Felony Rape Charge

FAYETTEVILLE- (KFSM)   A  Fayetteville man is behind bars Sunday (April 5th) facing some serious accusations. This according to the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.

The Sheriff’s Office said Christopher Cook, 34, of Fayetteville was arrested on Saturday (April 4th) morning and now faces a felony rape charge after an investigation by the State Police Office on Crimes Against Children on Friday.  Investigators said the minors mother provided them with information about the rape that she claimed took place two years ago.

The minors mother also stated the Cook told her about the rape and apologized to her and wrote the family a letter of apology for his actions.  Investigators also said that Cook confessed to the rape while being  interview about the rape.  Right now Cook is being held at the Washington County Sheriff’s Office.
