OKLAHOMA COUNTY (KFSM)- The Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office has cancelled an Amber Alert for 12-year-old Ashley Schoenecke of Oklahoma City as of early Wednesday morning (April 8). The alert was cancelled because authorities now believe the girl willingly got into a vehicle and ran away from home, and was not kidnapped as originally believed.
The Amber Alert was issued Tuesday night (April 7) after neighbors reported seeing the getting into a silver minivan with dark tinted windows around 7:30 p.m. The vehicle was driven by a bald, white man who is possibly heavy set and wearing a black shirt. The man is between 60 to 70 years old.
The girl is still reported as missing Wednesday (April 8). She was last seen in the Oklahoma City area. Schoenecke was last seen wearing a yellow shirt and black shorts, as well as one of her father’s shoes. According to the Amber Alert, the girl wore her father’s shoes to take out the trash and one of the shoes was left at the scene.
