FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) – The branch manager of a Fayetteville bank was arrested in a $22,000 embezzlement case on Monday (April 6), police say.

Connie P. Jordan, 42, of Fayetteville was booked into the Washington County Detention Center on Monday at 12:33 p.m. and faces charges of embezzlement and theft of property, according to jail records.

On March 26, a report was filed at the Fayetteville Police Department concerning Jordan. The victims reported that she had been fired from her job as a branch manager at United Bank at 670 E. Joyce Blvd., authorities said. When the bank conducted a cash audit after firing the suspect, a total of $22,899 was found to be missing, according to an arrest report.

The bank called Jordan, and she admitted that she knew about the missing money, police said. She also said she “knowingly and willfully [concealed] the fact money was missing by transferring the missing amount to various locations in the bank when audits were performed,” the report states.

After the audit, she’d delete the transfer records to conceal her actions, police said.

During the phone call with the bank, Jordan said she lost $25,000 in a transaction error and had been paying it back over the years to hide her mistake, according to the report.

“Bank records were obtained that showed the amount of money Jordan was hiding by transferring and deleting had increased over the years. This indicated that Jordan was not simply paying back a missing amount of money from the bank but taking it,” the report states.

Jordan bonded out of jail on Tuesday (April 7) at 12:57 p.m., and her trial has been scheduled for May 4, according to jail records.
