Logan County (KFSM)-  A homicide investigation is underway with three persons of interest in custody on unrelated charges.

The Logan County Sherriff’s Office said they were called to a home north of Booneville around 10 a.m. Monday (April 6). There they found the body of 60-year-old Ritchie Lynch.

“The police are treating it like a possible homicide,” Ricky Lynch, victim’s son said. “I don’t know what they know, but if there's anybody that does know we would just appreciate it if you would help.”

“Please, my dad was my best friend,” Crystal Butler, the victim’s daughter said.

The victim's family said they were trying to reach Lynch for several days.

“But his phone just kept ringing, and then it went dead and my sister had been trying to get someone to come over because we couldn't figure out what was wrong, and then my other brother, I guess he showed up yesterday and had found him,” Ricky Lynch said.

Sheriff Boyd Hicks spent much of the day Tuesday (April 7) investigating leads.

“We do have some persons of interest,” Sheriff Hicks said. “We've interviewed multiple persons and have several others we've got to locate and try to interview in the next few days.”

He said two of the three persons of interest in custody are being held in Polk County and the other is in the Logan County Jail. Their names aren’t being released at this time.

“[They] may have some information that we’re trying to get to,” Sheriff Hicks said.

The sheriff isn’t releasing how the victim died and said it’s unclear when Lynch died. His body has been sent to the state crime lab in Little Rock for an autopsy.

“He was a good guy,” Ricky Lynch said. “He always treated us good.”

Anyone with information about the death are asked to call the Logan County Sheriff's Office at 479-963-3271.
