FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM) -- A 25-year-old woman who police say attempted to kidnap a real estate agent at gunpoint in Fayetteville was released from the Washington County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond on Monday (April 27), according to the Sheriff's Office website.

Amilya Barcenas, who faces charges of kidnapping, aggravated robbery and criminal mischief, bonded out of jail at 11:20 a.m., the website shows. Her next court date is set for May 27.

The Realtor told police she had an appointment on Friday (April 24) to show a house on Hidden Creek Drive to a woman named Makayla, according to a court document. The victim said she was preparing paperwork when Makayla pulled a gun out of a diaper bag and pointed it at her, demanding she withdrew money from an ATM, the document states.

Makayla threw a zip tie on the counter and told the victim to tie herself with it because she needed to go to an ATM to withdraw some money, according to the document. The victim refused and pleaded with Makayla to put the gun away, the document states. When the suspect briefly set the gun down, the victim  made her escape by running to a nearby home.

Officers got a physical and clothing description from the victim and began searching the neighborhood for the suspect, the document states. Police eventually found a man and woman driving slowly through the neighborhood where the incident happened. The driver told officers the woman in his vehicle had come to his house asking for help finding her husband and child, according to the document.

The woman said her name was Amilya Barcenas and she was in the area looking at houses for sale, the document states. She told officers that she had asked the man driving the vehicle for help because she forgot where she had parked her car, according to the document.

According to Fayetteville police, Barcenas was wearing clothes similar to the description given by the victim and was also carrying a diaper bag. Inside the bag, officers found more clothing matching the victim’s description along with a loaded .38 revolver, the document states. The victim also identified the suspect as the woman who pointed the gun at her, according to the document.
