BENTONVILLE (KFSM) – A new principal has been selected for the Bentonville High School, officials say.

The Bentonville School Board approved the recommendation to promote Bentonville High School Assistant Principal Jack Loyd to principal at their May 4 board meeting. Loyd will assume leadership of Bentonville High School on July 1.

The new principal graduated from the University of Arkansas in 1988 and has been an assistant principal at Bentonville High School since 2005, according to a news release.

“I want to thank Superintendent Poore, his senior staff and the Bentonville Board of Education for the privilege of being the principal of one of Arkansas’ best high schools.” said Loyd. “I am very fortunate to have this opportunity at a school with great students, teachers, administrators and staff. BHS is a special place. We are so blessed to have parents and a community that support and believe in excellence for all students.”
