BENTONVILLE (KFSM) – Hollywood star Robert De Niro was in Northwest Arkansas Thursday (May 7) for a screening of his film at the Bentonville Film Festival.

De Niro took questions from the audience following the film.

The film highlighted the artistic history of De Niro’s father, who was a painter.

Many questions about De Niro’s passion for supporting unique art were asked.

De Niro was asked by one attendee if he had advice for those who create art outside of the mainstream.

"[Keep doing it] as long as you're happy doing it, and you're expressing what you want to express,” De Niro answered. “I don't know, whether you get recognized at this point, and whether it's relevant to more mainstream type things, maybe it's not. But if you're happy, that's the main thing.”
