WISTER, OKLA. (KFSM) – Two people are dead in a rollover accident involving a semi-truck and two other vehicles, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

The accident happened Monday morning (May 18) on Oklahoma 271. Traffic had to be diverted to Picturerock Rd. for about two hours, while that portion of the highway was shutdown for Oklahoma Highway Patrol to investigate the accident.

A red 2008 Dodge pickup-truck, white 2007 Chevy Impala and semi-truck were involved in the accident, according to Lt. Eddie Bohanan. The cause of the accident is still under investigation, but Bohanan said the Impala was traveling west and the Dodge pick-up was also traveling west, but was stopped and waiting for oncoming traffic to pass to make a left turn. The Impala ran into the stopped pickup-truck, sending the truck across the center line.  The semi-truck traveling eastbound then hit the Dodge pickup.

According to the release, the driver of the Dodge was 68-year-old Joe Waddle of Shady Point, Oklahoma and his passenger was Debra Waddle, also of Shady Point, Oklahoma. Both were pinned inside the pickup and pronounced dead at the scene according to the LeFlore County EMS.

The LeFlore County Sheriff's Office says the driver of the Impala was 26-year-old Andrea Callahan from Wister, Oklahoma. Also in the car was a four-month-old female. Callahan was transported to Sparks Hospital where she is listed in stable condition with leg injuries. The four-month-old was treated and released to family on the scene.

The release shows the semi being driven by 33-year-old Casey Vaughn of Heavener, Oklahoma. Vaughn was treated and released on the scene.

Investigators say seat belts were in use by everyone in the Dodge pickup as well as the semi truck. The driver of the Impala, Callahan, was not wearing her seat belt. The  four-month-old, however, was properly secured in a child seat.
