MOFFETT (KFSM) - Moffett Chief of Police Riley Brooks said officers are going door to door warning residents of possible flooding danger.

Police said the evacuation is not mandatory. However, many residents are packing their belongings and leaving their homes.

He said about half of the town has evacuated as of 10:15 p.m. Sunday (May 24).

The Moffett fire department is on standby in case of emergency, and Brooks said Oklahoma Highway Patrol is ready to offer help with patrol boats if it becomes necessary to rescue residents.
