ARKANSAS (KFSM) – Arkansas is one of the best states to raise children in, according to a 2015 report from the Institute for Women’s Policy Research.
The report ranked the best and worst states (plus Washington, D.C.,) to raise kids in, and Arkansas came in at number eight. Oklahoma was ranked the twelfth best state in the country to raise children in, according to the data.
Data in the report was based on factors such as paid leave legislation, elder and dependent care, child care and the gender cap in parents’ labor force participation rates.
The Institute for Women’s Policy Research also found that the best state to raise children in is New York, and the worst is Indiana.
Both The Natural State and The Sooner State received a “C+” grade in the report.
