The NWS has identified 3 tornado tracks but the details on: Intensity, Path, Duration, & Width are still being assessed.

A report on the EF Rating is still pending. When I spoke with NWS Tulsa this afternoon told me the preliminary findings may be released this evening (Wednesday). The storm survey is being conducted in a rural area of SE Oklahoma.

It’s possible 2 additional tracks may be identified S of Talihina and still another in the Albion, OK area.

The storm survey team uses radar data, GPS coordinates, & public photos to complete their assessment. In rural areas, reports take longer than usual due to some tornado tracks inaccessible by vehicle. Here is a link to our neighboring NWS Office in Little Rock about how assessments are carried out. NWS Damage.

The 3 known so far are:
– 6 NE Fanshawe
– 2 W Poteau
– 4 E Whitesboro

More information will be posted as it becomes available.
