VAN BUREN (KFSM) – A Van Buren theft suspect was arrested on Tuesday (May 26), and he was found to be traveling with a missing 15-year-old girl from Florida, police say.

The Van Buren Police Department said a theft report was filed by Van Buren Walmart personnel on May 18. The report said that on May 17 an unknown black man had stolen multiple items valued at over $1,000.

Authorities identified and found the suspect on Tuesday at another Van Buren business. He was taken into custody, and he told police his name was Isaih Kingston, 22, of the Bahamas, but he had no identification.

Federal authorities helped the Van Buren Police Department learn that the suspect’s name was actually Okeem Jordell-Denard Mason, 24, and he had active felony warrants out of Florida on suspicion of multiple charges including aggravated identity theft, police said.

Also attached to Mason’s record was the name of a missing 15-year-old girl from Miami, Fla. She was found in Franklin County where the two were staying, authorities said.

The theft suspect was booked into the Crawford County Detention Center and is being held on a no-bond warrant, according to the Van Buren Police Department.

The girl was given to the proper authorities who are working to return her to Florida.
