FAYETTEVILLE (KFSM)- A 16-year-old male is dead after crashing his truck into a pillar under the Fayetteville Flyover Friday (May 29), according to Arkansas State Police.

The accident happened at 5:10 p.m.  Police said the teen was driving a red Dodge pickup eastbound on the Fullbright Expressway when he crashed into a pillar under the flyover, then spun several times.

First responders pronounced the teen dead on the scene. Investigators have not released whether drugs, alcohol, or a high rate of speed were factors in the crash.

5 news when will it stop. You already showed in graphic detail my father all over your website and television program before my family was notified of his accident. Teied to call him all morning seeing his accident online only to wait 4 hours later for state police to inform us. Please put more respect towards families. All you have to say is person killed in single car accident, there is no need for the commentary with the graphic pictures and video in background.

As a volunteer first responder I want to say thank you for speaking up about this and to let you know I agree with you. It is not right for families to wonder if it is their family member that may be driving that color of the car they saw on the news. 5 news being respectful is so much more important than being the first to report a story.
