ROCK ISLAND (KFSM) - A driver was trapped for about 20 minutes after his semi suffered a blow out Wednesday afternoon (June 10).
Mark Howell, who works for Stone Trucking and was headed to Ohio, was driving a tractor trailer, hauling a cooler fan on Highway 112 near Rock Island when his tire blew out.
"Lucky to be alive after looking at that," Howell said. "Just a bad deal, "Going down the the highway just like normal hear a bang and it turned left. Wasn't nothing I could do about it."
The trailer flipped and cranes were called in to clear the area.
Howell wasn't seriously injured.
Traffic was backed up temporarily.
