LEFLORE COUNTY (KFSM) – A Van Buren man driving a motorcycle was seriously hurt Friday (June 12) afternoon following an accident where a car blew pass a stop sign, according to Oklahoma Highway Patrol.

A news release states that Nathan Scott, 31, was not wearing a helmet when he was ejected six feet from his 2005 Honda Motorcycle. The driver of the 1996 Chevrolet crossed into his path on Friday at 3:42 p.m. after not yielding to a stop sign on U.S. Highway 271, just three miles west from Pocola.

Scott was life flighted to Washington Regional Medical Center in Fayetteville where he’s currently in serious condition, according to OHP. The other driver was released from Sparks Medical Center in Fort Smith after getting treatment for minor injuries.
