FORT SMITH (KFSM)- Big crowds rallied in downtown Fort Smith Tuesday (June 16) to show their support of Hillary Clinton, who is hoping to be elected president in 2016.

The group Hillary For America met at Bricktown Brewery under the leadership of Mose Marie Boyd, who had just returned from New York.

"I think she gave the best speech I've ever seen her give." Boyd said. "She hit it out of the ballpark with a grand slam in my opinion. She stood up as her own woman. I think she is the most qualified person to serve as president of the United States.”

Mark Reinert heard the commotion at the restaurant and weighed in on Hillary.

"No, she is a candidate to me," he said. "I'm not being hateful, but she is just another person on the list. It's really important to hear why the people are supporting her. I 'd like to hear why they think we should vote for her.”

The Hillary For America group plans to meet again on June 25 at Creekmore Park.

"This is America and everybody gets to believe what they want. That's the fun part," Boyd said. "That's why it's exciting. We are here with so many folks in Fort Smith supporting Hillary."

The other candidates who have entered the Democratic race include Lincoln Chafee, Martin O'Malley and Bernie Sanders.

So far, 12 candidates have announced their bid for the Republican ticket.
