RUSSELLVILLE (KFSM) – A Confederate flag display event is scheduled to be held in Russellville on Sunday (July 5).
The event is called “Pope County Rebel Ride” and will take place at Old Post Road Park at 4 p.m.
The Rebel Ride event aims to “flood the streets of Russellville with rebel flags,” according to the event’s Facebook page.
“We won’t back down, we won’t give them up and we’ll wave them high and proud all through town,” the event page states.
The event’s organizer, identified as Tyler Titsworth, has made the suggestion that those attending each bring a canned food item to donate to charity.
“We’re not doing this just because we can. We’re just a big group of people trying to keep our southern roots strong,” Titsworth said.
Those attending the event were originally going to meet at the Walmart in Russellville, but Titsworth said he was told every attending vehicle would get a loitering ticket, so the event meeting spot was moved to the park.

A Rebel Rag Rally! Will all those who attend please post their names, and any businesses they may own, that decent people may boycott them out of existence?
